Regulations Governing the Academic Publication Awards
(for undergraduate, master’s degree, and doctoral students)

April 19, 2023—Amended by the Directors’ Meeting

Article 1  The following regulations have been formulated to encourage current students in the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources (“the College”), including undergraduate, master’s degree, and doctoral students, to have their academic writings published.

Article 2  Students (including undergraduate, master’s degree, and doctoral students) shall be eligible for the Individual Academic Publication Award (“the Award”) for each paper published in an SCI- or SSCI-indexed journal under the auspices of the College. Students must be the first or corresponding author in order to qualify. For papers co-authored by two or more students, only one of the students shall be eligible to apply. The Award standards shall be as follows:

1.  NT$15,000 for each article published in a top 5% SCI- or SSCI-indexed journal

2.  NT$10,000 for each article published in a top 25% (Q1) SCI- or SSCI-indexed journal

3.  NT$8,000 for each article published in a top 25–50% (Q2) SCI- or SSCI-indexed journal

4.  NT$5,000 for each article published in a top 50–75% (Q3) SCI- or SSCI-indexed journal

For papers co-authored by two or more students, the amounts indicated above shall be discounted by 20%, and only one of the students shall be eligible to apply.

Article 3  Application deadline: Students currently enrolled in the College may submit an application within two months of their paper’s acceptance or publication.

Article 4  Applications shall be reviewed as they are received.

Article 5  The Award shall be funded by the relevant annual budget(s) of the College, which shall be used in accordance with the applicable University regulations with the approval of the dean of the College.

Article 6  These regulations and any amendments mad hereto shall be implemented upon approval by the College’s Departmental Directors’ Meeting. The dean of the College may amend these regulations based on budgetary constraints and Award implementation results.
